My blog blurb

Hello! My name is Joseline Ayala and I am a second year Economics major as well as a Spanish minor. I was born in Anaheim, raised in San Diego, and currently living in Perris. For those who have no idea where that is, it's a really small town near Riverside. My parents(and basically their entire family) were born in Mexico so I have inherited a very rich Mexican culture. Every summer I spend two months at our home in Mexico where I help feed the cattle, cows, horses, and pigs. I used to hate it as a child because this one time a pig escaped from its cage and rode me of into a pile of pig poop. Some of my hobbies include playing soccer, going to concerts, hiking, watching shows on Netflix, roller blading, and spending time with my housemates. I have a huge family-three brothers and three sisters who drive me nuts. I am a first generation college student and I am loving every second of my experience here at UCSB. I love going to Six Flags and being adventurous with my friends. I'm also a huge Disney fan. I was devastated at the early age of six when I realized moving from Anaheim meant moving away from Disneyland and its world of magic and happiness. Sometimes when I go back home, I like volunteering at middle schools and elementary schools in after-school programs. I mostly help students with homework and class work, translate for their parents, and sometimes we take small trips with the kids to places like the zoo, aquariums, or baseball games. I really enjoy dedicating this time to the children(especially my youngest brother) because I believe it's very important that they receive help outside regular school hours. These are just a few things that make me who I am.
